Vanilla Chunk

The vanilla plant is a perennial vine. It belongs to the orchid family and like most orchids, the vanilla bean plant does better in areas with high temperature and humidity. It is also an epiphytic plant, as in its natural habitat, it mostly grows on trees and draws nutrients from the air. The epiphytic vanilla orchid usually grows upwards in a zigzag fashion, producing long vines that are bound with multiple long, greenish, lance-shaped leaves.

The vanilla bean plant is considered a high maintenance plant. This is not a great plant for the novice gardener, as it requires special care and needs to be grown in a controlled environment.
